cast iron skillet pizza

Ingredients

  • 1 pizza dough
  • flour
  • 1 tsp . corn meal
  • 1/2 can or jar of pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • any toppings

Instructions

  1. preheat oven to 450 degrees
  2. heat a large and small cast iron skillet over a high flame until hot
  3. divide pizza dough into two pieces, 1 twice the size of the other
  4. coat pizza doughs with flour and roll out to fit in pans
  5. sprinkle 1 tsp cornmeal in the skillets
  6. place dough in pan and turn heat to low
  7. top each pizza with 1/3 cup sauce and 1 cup cheese
  8. place any toppings on top, such as pepperoni, onions, peppers, cooked sausage, mushrooms, etc.
  9. cook, turning in pan until bottom is lightly browned
  10. place in oven and bake for 10 minutes until crust is cooked through and top is bubbly
  11. take out of pan and place on a pizza pan and let sit while you put the other pizza in the oven
  12. cut the first pizza into wedges and serve
  13. cook the second pizza while you eat the first!
