one pot penne and sausage

Ingredients

  • 1 lb italian sausage
  • 1 lb penne pasta
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 24 oz jar tomato sauce
  • 1 cup milk
  • cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. add sausage to a large pan over medium- high heat.
  2. cook, stirring often until browned and crumbly.
  3. add chicken broth, tomato sauce and milk.
  4. stir to combine.
  5. add barilla penne and stir.
  6. bring to a boil and cook, stirring often for 6-8 minutes until pasta is al dente.
  7. remove from heat and stir in cheese until melted.
  8. garnish with fresh basil
  9. serve immediately.
