candied sweet potatoes

Ingredients

  • 3 large sweet potatoes or yams
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 tbl cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup orange or apple juice
  • salt

Instructions

  1. boil salted water and cook potatoes until tender
  2. peel and slice into ½ inch thick slices
  3. melt butter with brown sugar, cinnamon and juice
  4. put potatoes in a casserole dish and pour butter mixture over
  5. bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes until candied and bubbly
