spaghetti pie

Ingredients

  • 12-16 oz spaghetti , cooked
  • 2 tbl olive oil
  • 1 small onion , diced
  • 2 cloves garlic , minced
  • 1 lb ground beef or meatloaf mix
  • 1 cup tomato sauce , divided
  • 2 eggs , beaten
  • 1 cup , grated parmesan or locatelli cheese
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese , divided
  • salt & pepper

Instructions

  1. preheat oven to 400 degrees
  2. in a large skillet, saute onion and garlic in olive oil until soft, 2-3 minutes
  3. add ground beef or meatloaf mix and brown, breaking up with a wooden spoon
  4. season with salt & pepper
  5. when meat is cooked add ¾ cup of tomato sauce and simmer 10 minutes until thick
  6. mix cooked spaghetti with eggs, parmesan cheese, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, ¼ cup tomato sauce, salt & pepper
  7. oil a pie plate with a little olive oil
  8. spread spaghetti in the pie plate and make a well in the center
  9. put meat sauce in the well leaving a spaghetti crust around the edge
  10. top sauce with remaining mozzarella
  11. bake in oven 20 minutes until brown
  12. let sit 5 minutes and slice into wedges
