bbq rib burger

Ingredients

bbq rib burger

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground pork
  • 1 loaf italian bread sliced in half lengthwise
  • ½ stick melted butter
  • 2 tbl minced garlic
  • ½ lb sliced mozzarella cheese
  • sliced pickles

chipotle bbq sauce:

  • 1 tbl olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic , minced
  • ½ small onion , minced
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • ½ cup crushed pineapple with juice
  • 3 tbl molasses
  • 3 tbl apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbl brown sugar
  • 2 tbl dijon mustard
  • 3 tbl worcestershire sauce
  • 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce , minced

Instructions

  1. heat oil in a pan and saute onions and garlic for 2-3 minutes until translucent
  2. add all the other bbq sauce ingredients and simmer for 15-20 minutes until thickened
  3. form pork into 4 rectangular patties, the width of the italian bread
  4. sprinkle pork with salt and pepper and grill patties 3-4 minutes per side basting with the bbq sauce
  5. melt butter and saute garlic for 2-3 minutes
  6. brush bread with garlic butter and top with sliced mozzarella cheese
  7. broil in over for 2-3 minutes until cheese is melted, being careful not to burn
  8. place patties on garlic bread, and slice into 4 sandwiches
  9. serve with pickles and additional bbq sauce
