fried chicken with bacon ranch waffles

Ingredients

8 pieces fried chicken from supermarket

waffles:

  • 4 slices bacon cooked and chopped
  • 1 cup pancake mix
  • ½ cup buttermilk *
  • 1/8 cup sour cream
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • black pepper
  • dill chive and parsley, finely chopped
  • ½ cup sharp white cheddar shredded

spicy maple syrup:

  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • hot sauce

Instructions

  1. preheat a waffle maker
  2. in a medium bowl, mix pancake mix with buttermilk and sour cream.
  3. season batter with onion and garlic powders, pepper and chopped herbs.
  4. stir in chopped bacon and cheese.
  5. spray waffle maker with canola oil
  6. ladle 1/4 of the batter on to the hot iron.
  7. let cook until done
  8. serve fried chicken on top with spicy maple syrup

spicy maple syrup:

  1. combine maple syrup and hot sauce to taste in a small pot
  2. heat until warm and pour over chicken and waffles

Recipe Notes

* I make my own buttermilk my measuring a little less milk than is needed and topping it off with  a couple of tablespoons of either lemon juice or white vinegar,  Let  it sit for a minute or 2 and it will become buttermilk!  I never buy it.
