preheat broiler

heat a cast iron skillet
-
season chicken with salt & pepper
-
melt butter and turn chicken to coat
-
arrange chicken skin side down and broil 6 inches from heat for about 5 minutes

remove chicken from oven and turn skin side up
-
broil for 5 more minutes
-
remove chicken and turn oven down to 400 degrees
-
mix bread crumbs, shallots, garlic and parsley
-
sprinkle over chicken and baste with butter
-
bake for 10-15 minutes more until the chicken is cooked through
-
turn oven to broil one more time
-
broil chicken to brown quickly
